AN INSIDER'S LOOK
To be honest, the content of this book is overwhelming to even the author himself. There are over a dozen other chapters in this book. We really do cover everything you can imagine... You see, anything is possible using Don Lemmon's Know How, Book Two, and that is why we call it The Ultimate Development.
Everything in Book Two is backed up by hands-on experience. I have used every tip in The Ultimate Development personally and I think you will see the common sense of it all on the first read... I know this book teaches you much more than anyone at any gym can, even Gold's Gym in Venice Beach or anywhere else there are professional bodybuilding trainers hanging out... You can't get a good trainer, let alone a bad one, or spend hours with an industry insider to come close to learning what I have put in this 300 page book. In fact, I may never hear from you again because this book covers so many bases... It is all you will ever need to do things honestly, drug free and to succeed like the people you see in magazines and on TV!
I realized the difference between who knew what when I was a mere 180 pounds watching my other 180 pound friends diet down to 140 to do 'shows' which were total jokes. The crowd roars for the 200-plus pound competitors, not skeletons with tanning lotion rubbed all over. Only family cheers on the little guys. I know, some people are shorter than others are. That is understood. I knew I had to get up to 250 pounds if I wanted to look right at 5'10". I gave myself a year to get there. I remained lean for the most part, but what a ride... I got hurt. Then I got fat. Because of that experience, I dove head first into finding every known solution to building muscle and burning fat that was available. Every piece of equipment, every program, you name it... I have narrowed it all down into The Ultimate Development.
Do you want to finally look the part when you are on stage or in front of the camera? How about just becoming one of the Big Men on Campus types or being able to stand up for yourself if the time comes? The fitness industry, like any business, is laced with disagreement and full of rants and arguments. It is the outright fraud that bugs me, or when people mislead other people by taking advantage of their trust trying to find some answers only to make it worse. There are those who mean well but make unrealistic statements about training based upon a fad and they pray to God their plan is the perfect plan to follow.
I started training at age 16 when I weighed barely 100 pounds at 5'8" tall. Without getting taller, I gained 40 pounds my first year. My second year of training was my senior year in high school when I gained another 30 pounds and grew another inch. That put me at 5'9" and 170. I also gained another 10 pounds in the Army and after that, from some local bodybuilders, I learned some techniques to go from 180 to 200 easily. But at that point, 7 years had passed since I first lifted weights and I was a little burnt out. I was in Southern California ; I trained people and worked in physical therapy all day long. Coupling all of that with pending studies, I needed a mental break, so I took one.
Surrounded by people who did not care about their training or eating habits despite where I worked was also hard on me. Nothing and no one belongs in your life if they are not supportive of your training and eating, sometimes they are not supportive because they have failed somewhere along the way themselves. Six months off, turned into 12 months, then 18 months and at 24 years old, 2 years off from training, I was 180 pounds again. But out of shape and feeling pathetic. I really was worthless and WEAK. I probably felt worse than I looked, but I was not enjoying what I saw in the mirror. I looked positively wimpy and felt like I had wasted my life and I had...
My natural body weight due to all the training and dieting would probably be right around 180 even if I did not lift ever again. However, I felt thin at 180. Maybe you weigh 140 and want to weigh 170. That is easy to accomplish. My decision was, "Its Now or Never," because I wanted to gain 30 pounds. Somehow 30 pounds turned into gaining 90 (explained in the book). Is it possible for anyone to gain that much? Not everyone wants to. However, if I now know how to gain 90, then teaching you to gain 30 is not too much of a task. I have helped clients gain 40 and 50 pounds. Because I got fat after my injuries, I also know what it takes to lose it all again.
I have also helped people get ready for shows and maintain all of their muscle mass (many built more muscle) using what I discovered next by trying to follow my old Army diary for newer workouts... By picking up the martial arts I quit years earlier... I am not going to lie and say it was all sunshine and daisies honing these programs, it was not. There were times I felt like I was fattening up and had to back off. There were times I got so strong I almost hurt myself again. I have worked with many cranky women to discover what made this work for them as well... Nevertheless, it all paid off and the routines, menus, programs and everything else I did to achieve not only my goals, but also the goals of my clients, are all covered in Don Lemmon's KNOW HOW, Book Two: The Ultimate Development.
